Single Sign-on (SSO) Identity and Access Management

Single Sign-On (SSO) is a service which allows users to pass between multiple applications without re-authentication.

Benefits & Features

The University of Nebraska supports two web-based authentication protocols for integrating SSO in applications: Centralized Authentication Service (CAS), and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML/Shibboleth).

Eligibility

Web applications hosted on a unl.edu domain can use the CAS service without formal approval. SAML access is open to any service provider registered with InCommon. For services that need custom attributes released to their service provider, fill out an Access Request Form and submit your request the Identity Management Steering Committee for eligibility and access requirements.

Pricing

There is no charge for this service, which is considered a common-good service.
